"We came to the Hotel Post in Mauterndorf in 2008 for the first time and though it may sound cliché it was love at first sight and stay. We have kept coming back ever since for more than once every winter.
We love winter time in the Alps and enjoy down-hill as well as cross-country skiing and in this respect the location of the Hotel Post is wonderful and there are several skiing resorts right at hand. But the winter holiday is not only about winter sports, but also about cosy and pleasant accommodation, which is offered excellently by the Hotel Post.
In the Hotel Post we appreciate most the family atmosphere. The caring and friendly approach of the Family Mayr and all the staff combines with the building itself that represents history and hotel tradition. As you step inside the Hotel you get instantly embraced with omnipresent touch of the past and you can almost feel the honest care of previous generations owning and caring for the Hotel Post.
It´s this unique combination of past and present that makes this Hotel and staying there so special. You can feel the continuity of love inbuilt in this place in the course of time.
We have stayed in the hotel with our children and they both enjoy staying here. On his first stay our seven-year old son summed up his fist impression of the hotel: “It´s like in the castle here.” And a few years later our five-year old daughter refused to accept that Hotel Post is a real hotel as well. As she once asked us if we would ever go to some hotel, because she has never seen one. We reminded her of our repeated stay in the Hotel Post, which she accepted but at the same time replied that Hotel Post is not a hotel, it is Mayr´s home where we also go like home or to a weekend house, but definitely not to a hotel.
Staying in Hotel Post makes us feel part of the history and being in the care of family Mayr makes us feel part of the family. And we are grateful for having such experience. And we simply love coming back, because there´s nothing better than coming home.”

“Ich bin jetzt 80 Jahre alt geworden und kann nicht mehr in die Alpen reisen. Ich erinnere mich dankbar an mehrere Winter und einen Sommer, in denen ich in Ihrem Hause Gast sein durfte.
